We will be once again hosting Steve Tomlin Crafts at Kith for a wooden spoon carving course. Learn how to work with wood and specialist wood carving tools to create your very own wooden spoon. This is a day course with full instruction and guidance especially for beginners.
All equipment will be provided for the course

Steve Tomlin has been working professionally with green wood since 2003 and is an internationally respected craftsman with a huge breadth of knowledge and experience, both in making and teaching. Steve focuses on rediscovering crafts, developing techniques and methods to then pass on. In 2018 Steve was awarded the first Heritage Crafts Association/ Marsh Award for endangered crafts in order to learn and preserve the craft of Devon stave basket making. through his teaching. Over his career, Steve has worked on spoon carving, fan bird making, hewn bowls and ash splint basketry. In 2013 he won a Queen Elizabeth Scholarship and spent 3 weeks working with master craftspeople in Sweden.
