A moment to Connect: Guest Post
Written by: WonderMom
We’re so lucky to have a special guest writer for our blog this month. We call her our Kith Cornerstone. This special person means the absolute world to both of us, a genuine soul with the kindest heart. Thank you for putting words to paper for us and spilling your heart.

I wanted to take the time to write about a very special place, somewhere that has been a lifeline to me over the past few months, and a place I hope to be a part of for many seasons and years to come.
The Kith Homestead is not just the beautiful piece of Yorkshire land, it’s the time we get to spend with our children there, full of wonder and interest in the natural world. And it is also the kind, warm and intelligent women who own it and run the classes. They are both strong women and mothers, with a connection and love of the land and nature, and a wonderful engaging way with children. It is truly magical to see them teach and how children open up around them.
As a mother of a toddler and a baby, newly finding my way parenting the two, having lost myself a little along the way and trying my very best but often feeling overwhelmed, the homestead has been my saviour. Our sessions there are a breath of fresh air, literally and figuratively. It is without a doubt our favourite afternoon of the week. A time to connect with my children, but also other mothers too. I can watch and learn with my toddler, or if needs be I can sit and cuddle my newborn whilst my toddler is engaged and enthralled by the teacher and the session. In the mama and baby sessions, and the wonderful new women’s circle, the chance to really connect with other women and discuss our deeper thoughts about ourselves and the world in a way that doesn’t happen at the usual toddler groups, has been eye opening and so very needed for me at this time in my life.
What I found at the homestead was exactly what I needed, and I am so excited to have been here through its first season, and to see how it grows and develops in the future. I hope more people will come to see and fall in love with it just as we have, and be part of the growing community here. (I also secretly want to keep it just as it is, just as when you find something magical, a part of you wants to keep it for just for yourself, so as not to break the magic spell!)
But I wouldn’t be writing this if I didn’t want to share it with people and spread the word. I hope you will come to try it, and that we will play alongside you and meet you soon. I think you will love it as much as we do.
