Kit List:
Essentials
Check these off as you go and please make sure your children know what’s in their own bag…
Wellies - ideal for taking off and putting back on after visiting the yurt space.
Layers. We can’t stress this enough, send your children with layers they can take off-put on themselves. T-shirt, lightweight fleece, waterproof jacket appropriate for the weather, trousers/leggings and waterproof trousers.
Hat, tube scarf, gloves
Spares.
Be sure to have enough layers in their kit bag if the weather turns. A change of clothes is highly recommended (socks, pants, trousers, long sleeved top) even for those children who wouldn’t usually need it, there’s nothing worse than getting cold and wet and not being able to change.
A lightweight snuggly jumper is always appreciated when they get cold
Put it all in a plastic bag inside their main backpack. If their bag gets wet, then at least their spare clothes stay dry and vice versa.
Nothing precious or special to be worn or brought to the Homestead. The long grass, mud and woodland floor gobbles things!
A drink of water/juice. We don’t have access to running water so please make sure the children have enough. We have a main water tank to fill up from but it’s limited.
Lunch - a hot food flask with pasta/jacket potato tends to work well on the cold days. Don’t forget a fork!
A plastic bag for any soggy clothes/treasures etc
